Peruvian Artisans from Pisac

Above is a photo of the weekend marketplace in Pisac, about an hour outside of Cuzco in Peru. It’s a fun place to discover treasures from tropical fruits to artful weavings and ceramic jewelry. I’ve been there several times, most recently to purchase additional handpainted ceramic pendants and inlaid stone jewelry for our collection. We stayed at a rustic resort just outside of town where the kids were thrilled to swim in an Olympic sized pool under a huge dome-like structure. We ate empanadas from an outdoor stone oven - and passed on the local delicacy of roast guinea pigs. All in all, a delightful starting point for our tour of the Sacred Valley.
